Update November 2021: I recently got into an accident about 6 weeks ago or so that I ran over a median and I believe I cracked the oil pan and drained the engine, killing the engine and I had to have it towed back home. Monroe Foreign Auto looked at it a few days later and got back to me telling me that the entire engine needed to be replaced, which costs about as much as my car was worth. I decided to not have it done and just sell the car for what I could get for it with a non-functioning engine. Sold the car, and just recently heard back that the new owner of the car got the car running without a new engine. I don’t have that car anymore that didn’t even need a new engine because of Monroe Foreign Auto.
Hello Ben. I am sorry you feel we misled you on your vehicle. We felt that given the fact that the engine ran without oil, it would not be advisable to do about $900.00 worth of work to repair the know damage, only to find out that the engine was no good due to oil starvation. We attempt to pass along all the information that we have in order to allow our customers to make the most informed decisions about the repair of their vehicle, and I apologize if we did not do a sufficient job in your case. I understand that the new owner was able to get the vehicle to run without replacing the engine, but unfortunately there is no way to know how much damage there is or how long the engine will last and we did not feel we could stand behind this kind of repair.
